Bonsoir from Paris! Today brought another visit to Roland Garros for Olympic tennis, this time in the main stadium, Court Philippe Chatrier. Lucked out with a seat in the front row of the upper deck.

I was able to see Novak Djokovic on his quest for his first Olympic medal as he dispatched Dominik Koepfer of Germany without too much trouble.

Final point of Djokovic’s victory

While Chatrier has a roof, it unfortunately wasn’t closed so I roasted again in the sun and temps in the mid 90s. After watching a bit of the following match, I decided to head out.

On my way back to the hotel, I decided to try to check out the Trocadero and lucked into a great pic of the Eiffel Tower as I was walking down the street. One of the beauties of Paris is that you never know when a photo opportunity is lurking around the corner. Stopped by the Arc de Triomphe as well since it was on my metro route.

Up next for tomorrow a day I’ve been looking forward to. Archery, handball and volleyball – some classic Olympic sports I wouldn’t normally have a chance to see.
