With no major travels on the horizon, I’m catching up by making videos for previous trips including this 13-minute one of my two-week 2017 visit to South Africa and Zimbabwe.

I’d visited Africa for the first time when I went to Morocco in 2012, but had always wanted to do a safari experience. GAdventures offered a perfect tour co-branded with National Geographic encompassing Cape Town, Kruger NP & Karongwe Game Reserve and Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

After nearly 24 hours of travel from Miami to South Africa (via New York and Amsterdam), I arrived in Cape Town and spent a few days exploring history at Robben Island, the beauty of the Western Cape including the Cape of Good Hope and the magnificence of Table Mountain.

The group flew to Johannesburg and then traveled to Kruger National Park for our first couple days of safari. Traveling through the beautiful landscape, we continued with another two days of safari at the Karongwe Game Reserve, including nighttime drives and a morning safari walk. An amazing time seeing all of Africa’s “Big 5.”

We flew to Zimbabwe for our final portion of the tour, walking along Victoria Falls, having dinner at a local home and an exhilarating whitewater rafting excursion on the Zambezi River.

A most memorable journey!
